The pain was unbearable. She was constantly tired, always had to pee, and her back ached like never before, but it did not even compare to the pain in her breasts. They were so incredibly tender, and the woman couldn't do anything about it. She wanted to cry, but she knew that was only because of the hormones. It had been about three weeks now since she found out she was pregnant, and that was plenty of time for Lori to accept the fact that she would have to have this baby whether she liked it or not.
She teetered along the edge of lagoon, stark ass naked. Her breasts had swollen and her tummy had a small baby bump that normally wouldn't have been that noticeable, but because of the lack of nutrition and the fact that she was already a very skinny girl, it was rather obvious what it had to be. She had been staying with Gabriel this entire time. She had kept his secret that he had been one of the pilots, and he had kept her secret of her pregnancy. She had since been successfully staying away from most the group and being able to completely stay away from Zach. She had stuck full on with the idea that she didn't want to weigh him down with this.
She sunk into the cold lagoon, the goosebumps immediately popping up on her flesh. She loved the nice relief though. The heat from the day had sunk into her pores, and this gave her a chance to just relax. She ran her hands over her body, feeling as if she were wiping away all the traces of dirt that clogged her. She found a smaller boulder, sitting down on that and then leaning her head against a rock, making herself a makeshift recliner. Long arms reached up, untangling her hair from the bun she had, allowing the long locks to fall into the water past her shoulders. Nearly three months without cutting her hair had given her a few more inches than she had came here with. She sunk further in the water, twirling her finger around one of the wet threads of hair.
She hummed to herself, a song that she hadn't heard in ages. She could only imagine the kind of music that had came out since the crash. That was something she wished she could have again. It had been so long without music. She slowly closed her eyes, the humming continuing as she brushed her fingers through her hair and through the water, loving the solitude she had here in this moment.

Things seemed....almost normal again. The sickness had mostly passed from them and left them in a humbled recovery. It took a lot of energy and determination to keep most everyone living through it. Food and water had to be gathered, but there was no easy way to get enough of it in large amounts when there were so few healthy and even less amounts willing to do the work. Only one person had actually passed from the illness, whatever the hell it was, and it had been a middle-aged woman. Still, it was a terrifying ordeal, and Raion, Zachary, and all the others who witnessed it or experienced it were left a notch below their previous comfort levels. Raion and Zach were in each ones' company again, the latter having made a full recovery in the past few weeks. They were scouting the island for food. Zach was different since the illness. Raion couldn't quite place it, but even he knew it was not good. The egregious leader was now sullen, reserved, tired all of the time. Perhaps grumpier than ever before. Only Raion knew why - it had a lot to do with Lori, his apparent lover. The two of them had gotten pregnant together, and it was Raion who helped Lori figure it out - and Raion that Lori had sworn to secrecy. Raion wasn't sure he even agreed to that term, thought Lori to be a terrible person, but hadn't yet worked up the nerve to tell Zach the truth of Lori's sudden disappearance. Zach hadn't asked much. It was like that. Heather parted, and they were a minute away from their destination. The duo were headed for the lagoon. Raion was insistent that the previously sick stayed hydrated and ate lots. Zach hadn't said much in either side of that opinion. As the edges of the spring came into view, Raion and Zach both stopped short and looked at each other. The sound of a sing-song humming was all that could be heard in the silence, and they both seemed to be startled by it. When Raion looked for the source, he saw the head and shoulders of a very familiar form, and a blush came to his naive cheeks. | if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you [HASH]Zach |
Zach was healthy again, but mentally, not so much. His world had come to a turnaround. He almost died, almost left behind the ones he cared about most. When he fought through it and came to, one of his favorite people had already abandoned him and he still wasn't sure the true reason why.
His fire had gone out, and he wasn't sure he could ever get it back.
The heat of the jungle and its stuffy air made him sweaty and anxious. Neither he nor Raion ever spoke much anymore. Zach had sensed long ago that he was missing something, but hadn't pursued it anger longer. There was a bad taste in his mouth and he just wanted to eat, sleep, and soak up some sunlight once a day. Fishing had been a good way to spend his time, but he still grew exhausted pretty easily.
When they reached the lagoon in their habitual silence, his demeanor perked at the sound of a familiar voice and a soothing tune, hummed by lips he had once known intimately. His stomach lurched, and he looked at Raion as his friend did to him. Raion didn't seem to know who it was, not like Zach did.
His feet were glued to the mildewed rocks, his eyes sweeping across the expanse of the lagoon in an instinctive attempt to find her. When he did find her, he was shocked by the sight of her, her head above water, while the tan-pinkness of her was a blur under the ripples of the freezing spring water. He was speechless, and didn't know whether to approach her, or turn back around and forget he'd seen her.
Raion was staring at him, aghast, and Zach didn't even seem to notice. Lori was here, and she was the biggest reason why he doubted his own existence.

The water was comforting to the woman, and she continued to soft tune as she grabbed a softer, porous stone, which she thought was called a pumas stone, to scrape along her skin. She wished for soap, but the cold water and the rock was enough to rid her of her first layer of skin, which was all she really needed. Her hair circled around her, clinging tightly to her shoulders and the top of her breasts as she moved around in the water, buffing away at her skin that had long since gotten used to the constant sun. The burn along her cheeks was gone, replaced with a strong tan that left her glowing. Or, maybe that was just because of her pregnancy now. Either way, she looked decent for someone who had been living basically in the jungle for 3 weeks now.
The silence of the lagoon was one that she was so thankful for. She had closed her eyes, the water serving as the only caress along her shoulders as she twirled her hair in her fingers, attempting to detangle and clean the dark black strands. She had continued to hum, eventually slipping in a few words that she had remembered from the song. She had been terrible at memorizing songs, but she could remember her dad always humming the song around the house when he had something on his mind. He had been a large music fan, and she could still remember his voice in her head. "I think of you whenever I'm alone, so please don't go," she whisper sang, immediately regretting her song choice. Without her command her hands just froze in her hair, completely unable to move. She swallowed and finally sighed, her arms dropping down to her stomach where she rubbed circles around her navel. The bump wasn't too large, but it was there now. She pressed gently on the skin, imagining that she could touch the baby that hid beneath there.
She stood silently, water rolling off her body. But, when she turned around for her towel, her eyes grew wide at realizing that two people where here. Two people she knew. One of which she had spent nearly a month avoiding. She swallowed, eyes wide before she leapt into action, grabbing her towel and holding it over the front of her body, hoping to whoever would listen to her thoughts that Zach hadn't seen the swollen bump of her stomach, but knowing him, he hadn't been able to ignore anything. Especially when it came to her. She wanted to babble, wanted to try and find an excuse like she was starving so she had a swollen abdomen, but it was quite obvious that it was a lie. She instead stood, completely in shock at seeing Zach after so long. She could only think that he looked good. His body had recovered from the illness, and he seemed strong again. She flickered her eyes over to Raion and wondered if he had said anything. She had been so out of the loop now that she couldn't be sure if he had actually kept her secret or not.
The silence stretched on for what seemed like forever, her heart pounding so loud in her chest and ears that it drowned out the rest of the sound around her. She took to finally wrapping the towel around her body and grabbing up her clothes from the pile that she had deposited them into. "I'll be going," she squeaked, not at all embarrassed that the two of them had seen her so vulnerable, but that she had been caught in her secret, caught in running away from all of her problems again.
