Age: 29 | Gender: Male |
Orientation: Bisexual | Status: Married, Open relationship |
Hometown: Santa Cruz, CA | Faceclaim: Ben Dahlhaus Whittington |
Appearance
Vinny is an average height of five feet, ten inches tall. He’s extremely fit from his love of working out. Vinny is tan all year round, and when he hangs out in the sun, he looks even darker. He has long, shoulder length brown hair. He has a beard and mustache combo that he keeps well groomed. He likes to think it makes him look more rugged, but not dirty. He has killer light blue eyes that pop against his tan skin. You could say that he dresses as a hipster, wearing form fitting jeans, vintage t-shirts, and Doc Martins. He also loves to rock a sick man-bun when he’s hanging around the hotels.
Personality
Vinny is a very laid-back type of guy. He grew up in California, and he’s your typical surfer kid. While he never got into surfing, his personality is spot on. He’s not one to get angry over anything, and if he does get angry, you better believe its over something major. He falls in love easily, and he loves hard. While he can make a conversation with anyone, he prefers to sit back and observe human behavior. He finds the way people interact together and with their environments fascinating, and it helps his writing. Vinny takes his health seriously, as well. He grew up eating home-grown, locally raised foods. He believes that natural is best, and though he isn’t a vegetarian or anything, he still likes to make sure his meats and proteins come from local places that care for their animals. He also enjoys working out at least six times a week.
History
Vinny was born to two teenage parents. His mother was eighteen, and his father was nineteen. They lived in a little shack that touched the beach. His parents didn’t believe in using air conditioning or heat. If they got cold, they made a fire outside or put more clothes on. Both of his parents worked at a local grocery store that specialized in all organic, locally grown foods. That’s what Vinny grew up on. He lived a very simple life as a child, but he was one of the happiest children you could ever meet. His parents encouraged him to try new things and to go for his dreams. So while Vinny didn’t grow up having everything his heart desired, he did grow up with a lot more than most children had. He grew up with supportive parents.
During summers, Vinny worked at the shop with his parents. He didn’t necessarily get paid until he was older, but he learned the value of hard work and money. A big part of Vinny’s childhood was writing. From the time he could talk, he was making up stories and telling them to anyone who would listen. Once he began to physically write, his skills really took off. His teachers would often send home notes telling his parents that he had a real gift for writing and that they should help him foster it. So, they did everything in their power to help encourage and enhance his writing skills. Whether that was a free writing class at a community center or taking him to museums and different places to get inspired, they did it all.
In high school, he joined the creative writing club and journalism club. His senior year of high school, he became president of both clubs. He was accepted into Columbia University’s Journalism school. He got his undergrad and master’s in Journalism, and got a job offer from a place in Atlanta, Georgia that wanted him to travel the world while critiquing hotels. He absolutely loved his job. He was living a great life until he went to a little bed and breakfast in Georgia. That’s when he realized that his life had been good, but it could’ve been even better if he had met Gwen earlier. From the moment he walked into the little place and saw the gorgeous red head, he was smitten. Instead of going out to clubs and enjoying the town life, he stayed in to eat dinner with the rest of the group and did nothing but talk to Gwen.
He extended his stay for a week just to stay with her. He had used some personal days and some personal money, but it was all worth it. There was no denying that Gwen was the one for him. He made it a point to stay around her town just to get to know her better. Once he realized he couldn’t stay in Georgia any longer without losing his job, he asked her to run away with him, and she agreed. They got married and off they went to a fancy hotel in another country. The first year of their marriage had been wonderful. There had been nothing but love and traveling. His job supported them while she went back to school. While he told her she didn’t have to work, he understood that she wanted to. The second year of their marriage, they started trying for a baby.
It wasn’t working out so well, and it caused some strain on their marriage. Gwen was growing frustrated with all the poking and prodding from doctors. He also noticed a change in her demeanor, noticing that she was growing distant and seemed more depressed. He wanted nothing more than to give her a baby. The doctors said it was both their fault, yet Vinny felt the need to blame it all on himself. He began researching on fertility more, and he learned that stress made it harder to get pregnant. He decided to book a trip to Chile for them so that they could relax and enjoy one another again. Maybe being relaxed would help. It seemed to work for Gwen, too. She seemed back to her old self with looking forward to this trip.
