Basic Information
Name: Raion Meyers
Nicknames:
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
Status: Taken
Hometown: Live Oak, FL, USA
Face Claim: Chris Carrabba
Essential Information
Appearance:
Medium-sized and naturally lean, Raion is perhaps an acquired taste to some but considerably handsome to others. His torso and arms are well defined and it is obvious that he leads an active lifestyle. He is usually of average heigth when being compared to others, with a slim waist. His hair is black but in sunlight it often looks like a dark shade of chocolate brown. He keeps it moderately short and usually spiked or slicked back at the front. His eyes match his dark hair color and his skin complexion is smooth and peachy cream. He is well known for his gentle expression, as he has large eyes that are often described (much to his discomfort) as "puppy dog eyes." He tends to wear his emotions clear on his face and so he's always been a bad liar. Casually dressed, he likes to wear FOX t-shirts or plaid polos and usually darkwash jeans and sneakers. He is not totally clean cut and usually sports a bit of manicured scruff or chin straps.
Personality:
Described often as "easy-going," Raion is known to be an extremely laid back young man. There is little you can do to get under his skin and in general, most unpleasant things just tend to roll off of his shoulders. Because of his ability to keep a cool head under stress, he is proven to be reliable. Combined with his kind-heartedness, many may look to him for a feeling of security or for reassurance. He does not like to let people down and takes responsibility very seriously. On the opposite hand, he has a very offbeat sense of humor and loves to have fun, though his quirkiness may sometimes rub certain others in the wrong way.
Socially speaking he can be a bit awkward at times, mostly because he's a man of facts and doesn't like to beat around the bush. He often acts on impulse when he feels cornered or when dealing with emotions he does not understand. He is far more in tune with the feelings of others than with those of himself, so though he may be good at giving you advice, more often than not he feels incredibly insecure about himself. When very angry, Raion can be curt and sometimes speaks of things he would normally keep to himself. He also has moments when he will react with violence, but only when his testosterone really gets fired up. When in down moods, he prefers to be alone. Mostly, Raion is well-rounded in that he prefers to put people at ease, but is not afraid to stand up for himself or for the things he feels are right.
Mentally, Raion has been through tough trials. In a lot of ways he is emotionally crutched. Though he may give off the air of a relatively confident and social buff, the truth is that he suffers from a lot of unusual insecurities due to experiences in his childhood and teen years. He has mild offshoots of certain phobias, though many of them can be easily overcome with the right influence. He fears rejection of the romantic kind and also thinks little to nothing of himself, often giving in to feelings of worthlessness. This gives him a bit of a humble air and more of a follower's personality as opposed to a leader type. He tends to trust, not his own decisions or viewpoints, but the opinions of others.
Raion can be very needy in a physical way, though he's deathly afraid of being the first to initiate a hands-on relationship and first needs the ice to be broken by someone or something. After that happens, he finds reassurance in constant touching or cuddling, therefore he may clash with the type of person who needs a lot of personal space.

Posessions:
Nothing; Raion was a light packer to begin with, but he was not able to find any personal possessions. All he has is the clothes on his back.
History:
Born and raised in the USA, in the sunny state of Florida, Raion is an outdoorsy person and spent much of his childhood doing something productive. He was a good-natured child and a bit of a momma's boy. His mother is a petite and frail woman in her early forties, who is described as being "sweet as pie." From the beginning she was very hands-on with Raion and gave him lots of affection and attention that she hoped would substitute for his lack of a father, of which had left the family when Raion was around five. Raion's sister was born right around this time, much to Raion's delight. He loved having a little girl to protect and to teach and as they grew up together, they remained close.
Raion had trouble in the later years of his schooling because he took up a part-time job in his uncle's business due to his family's lack of basic needs. He was hard working but sometimes found that he was too exhausted to work diligently at his studies. He managed passing grades, however, and that was good enough for him. His paternal uncle was named Richie, and Raion looked up to this man with great respect and as a father figure. It was Richie who taught him to be streetwise and innoventive and instilled life lessons in young Raion. He also got him involved in his tile and flooring business, which quickly became the family's main source of income. After highschool graduation, Raion continued working for Richie.
There is one particular day in Raion's history that has become a black mark on his mental health. He was freshly sixteen and had just bought his first truck when he was filling up at a gas station. Much to his sudden dismay, he saw his long-gone father filling up at a pump next to him. Raion felt a mixture of discomfort and overwhelming excitement to see him again, since it had been over ten years since he'd last had contact with him. When he approached him he was all smiles, but instead of reaching out to him, Raion's father rejected him.
"Sorry, kid," was what he said as he turned his back on Raion, stepped into his car, and drove away. Raion was left feeling devasted
Raion also struggles with the fear of intimacy. Around when he was eighteen, Raion had his first serious girlfriend. They dated for two years and in this entirety they did not sleep together. It was because it turned out that this girl was afraid of the act, which led to problems in their relationships for obvious reasons. It hurt Raion very deeply to go through this physical ordeal. He often tried to make himself more desirable or work on himself somehow in the hopes to get her to give in, but he was rejected so much (usually in a violent, emotional manner) that he himself developed emotional problems from it. He began to feel less like a man, with no sex appeal, almost afraid of sex himself, and because of this, Raion was never able to hold a steady relationship after her and is still a virgin to this day - a secret he keeps to himself.
His mother died when he turned twenty, from a heart attack. She'd always had heart troubles. The hospital bills racked up debt for he and his sister, who Raion was suddenly granted custody of at age sixteen.
The days leading up to the plane crash were the darkest of his life. His uncle Richie had just died and it left a devastating blow on Raion. Richie's younger brother, Raion's father, did not come to the funeral, which made Raion and his sister angry. Serena had recently moved out with friends, so he was alone in their old apartment. He had also just been dumped by a new girlfriend after only a few dates. Caught under the pressure of all this sadness, Raion struggled with thoughts of suicide. He came very close to it one day while he was home alone, but instead, he spontaneously packed a bag and hopped on a plane, trying to escape the shadows of his past.

After the Crash
Raion got involved in the affairs of the group rather quickly. Following the calm direction of Zachary, he helped keep the survivors calm and focused at the tasks at hand. He and Zach grew to respect the qualities of the other, which seemed to fill holes in each one's personality. So far, they've acted as a team; Zach leads and Raion essentially acts as adviser, or co-leader.
Raion had made a promise to Calloway after meeting her a couple of times in the jungle. Cal is a loner, and Raion tried to convince her to join the group of survivors to no avail. Worried for her safety, he promised to meet her every morning on the eastern beaches to bring her food and check up on her. He sneaks off every morning to do this, fearing the opinions of others.
