if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you [HASH]Zach
The downpours had started.
Zach had explained to the group about what was happening. Apparently, they already knew. Some idiot kid saw the signs and decided it was a good idea to send the inexperienced into a state of panic. They all looked to him with wide eyes, and some demanded bossily that he get his shit together and figure out where they should go. With a gruff affirmation, he told them he'd found the location of the caves. It was a bit after that the rain and lightening started. Everyone gathered what things they had and they set off into the jungle together.
He was carrying one of the wounded older men. The man was heavy and it was slow going. But he was one of the few that wasn't direly injured, so he toughed it out, walking through the jungle, trying not to be disoriented or slip and fall. Many others had to be carried or supported on their way to the shelter. Everyone was soaked to the bone, and discouraged. There was silence in the air when they finally made it to the entrance of the cave. The wind was growing furious by now and Zach was relieved they made it when they did.
The cave was wide and would house them all comfortably. But, there was a lot more to it, further back. Lots of caverns and separate nooks to be explored.
He took out his cell phone after putting the man down. He had tried to wrap it in an empty peanut wrapper to keep it drier. It still worked as a flashlight, shining in the entrance to glow throughout the nearby walls. There was some water on it, though, and he wondered how much life it had.
"Raion, did you leave the stuff for the fire in here? Let's get a fire going, people," he clapped, the echo of his enthusiasm ringing around them. "Let's get cozy together and tell scary stories."
The people started picking out personal places, making their way carefully in the darkness, and setting down supplies, while a few started gathering the wood that was gathered to try and start a fire. Zach shivered. It was cold in here. They were all soaking wet. There were only a few fish gathered today before the storm struck. They would have a hungry night. And a cold one, if the fire was botched. He stood near the entrance and stared out at the pouring rain and swaying palm trees. The jungle outside was taking a beating already.
Raion wanted to find Kelly and travel with her, but he'd befriended a young girl who was clinging to him. Her parents were apparently dead. She followed him around everywhere as he had gathered up as much as he could in his arms. He didn't mind. She was charming. And his fatherly instincts kicked in and he wanted to take care of her and see her to the cave safely. The rain had started and he commanded her to stay close as they walked. Inside the cave, Zach asked him about the fire, and he nodded in response, moving immediately towards the supply of wood he had gathered earlier in the day. He and Zach had been working a lot together. Putting their brains in the mix to come up with good forethought and plans. The dry wood collects before the rains had been his own idea. One of the older men was good at making fires from scratch. As Raion put the recipe together, he was already working diligently at his striking to get the friction started. Raion watched, mesmerized, and stood nearby. His stomach growled and he thought he might pass out for a moment. A lot of preparation had been done today, and he was exhausted and hungry.

Rain came down, washing the island clean as the wind whipped the trees around them. The little shelter he had made on the beach hadn't held up against the gale-force winds and he had to leave to try and find shelter. He was left to wander the jungle. He hadn't expected to be so lucky as to find the caves... but did lucky really describe it? As he approached he saw that the cave he had found was inhabited. The other survivors had found it first. Leaving wasn't an option though- the weather was too intense to simply try for another cave.
As he broke through to the dryness of the cave he would let his pack slide to the floor. The clothes that he wore were soaked through and he figured the ones in his pack probably had shared the same fate. He had changed a bit since they had first arrived on the island. A tan had deepened on his skin, a fuzzy growth had formed on his cheek and his feet were colored by the mud and much he trudged in without shoes. Still he didn't look too worse for wear. He had learned how to fish and had been able to feed himself. Once he'd figured out fire he had been pretty much set. Now though it felt a bit awkward... staring at the people who sat within this cave. People he had made a point of avoiding since the crash.
His eyes spotted their make-shift loud mouth leader and grimaced. Maybe he could avoid contact and just wait out the storm? He doubted it. Still, he didn't need to interact with the man. If he wanted to start a fight he could. For now though he would stay where he was, ready to wait out the storm outside.

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya Taya had straggled behind Logan. The two of them had chosen to stick together in this ordeal, and Taya didn't mind the way things were. They had spent what seemed a good week together by now. Every day she kept an eye and an ear on the lookout for the rescuers. Today was much different. Today she and Logan were forced to abandon their solitude. This cave seemed the only safe option away from the whipping winds outside. It was scary just trying to make it to this place, so she was already uneasy when they approached the cave and saw that the rest of the survivors had beat them to it. A strange feeling struck her then as some faces turned to look at th newcomers. It was a feeling like guilt.
They were just starting a fire, it seemed. The orange glow casted some light on all the activity inside. She looked around and slowly moved closer to Logan as though the other people were biters. A young man was giving them the stink eye and she wanted to hide from his piercing gaze, but she just nodded at him. Another man, handsome with kind eyes, quickly moved closer to them to give her a greeting.
"I didn't realize we missed people. I'm Raion. We just made a fire, so come make yourselves warm and dry. Are there any others out there, do you know?"
if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you [HASH]Zach
Zach recognized Logan right away. The girl, he didn't. Never seen her before. He was surprised to see Logan was not alone, though, unlike the only other time he'd met him. The anger from that day was still fresh in his heart as he looked the two people over, not speaking or greeting them. Raion was quick on his feet when they walked in, though. The kid had no idea what kind of man he was offering his naive kindness to.
"Look what the weather dragged in." He announced it loudly, so everyone turned their heads to look at Logan.
Smiling, but not in a friendly way, Zach nodded at Logan and stood with his arms crossed. "Not doing so well out there on your own, are you? Decided it was time to rejoin humanity? You look nice and fat. I guess you and your girlfriend are eating good as usual."
He caught Taya's eyes, who looked a mixture of confused and disturbed by his apparent hostility. He feigned a surprise look to her as though he didn't realize she was new to the situation. "Oh. You don't know me? I'm Zach. Welcome to the rest of the plane crash." He waved a hand around to the people sitting all around them. Turning to Raion, he said, "There's no others. These people prefer being by themselves."

Lori had followed Zach to the caves, knowing her best chance at survival was with him. He was the supposed leader of this group, and that put her in a pretty sweet spot with getting what she needed to survive. She had been exploring the caves a little, not afraid of the dark. Her soft hands ran along the wall of the cave, her new sneakers happily on her feet. She would never have survived the trek here without them. She felt a little guilty about stealing them, but it was honestly the best decision she had made on this god-forsaken island. She sighed gently, grabbing a cigarette and tucking it between her lips. She flicked her lighter, so happy that it was working again. She didn't need to light one of these bad boys in front of the rest of the group. She feared she'd have another addict on her hands asking for a hit of it. She sucked it in deeply, getting a quick flash of the cave with her lighter's glow. She wasn't sure how far back this cave reached, but by the sounds of the echo of her shaky footsteps, she figured that it probably went for a long, long time. After a long walk, she begun to turn around, sucking the last of the cigarette down. She only had one more left now.
After the hurricane's initial rain storm, she felt that she deserved this cigarette. She had never been an out-doors-ey type. She had grown up in downtown New York and had never really needed to live outside. She had experienced camping before, but only after everything had been planned out for her. She blew out her final puff of smoke right before she entered the cavern again. She walked up towards Zach, having not made any other friends yet. Was that was her and Zach were? Friends? She looked at him for a moment, and then noticed the very obvious pissed off expression on his face.
She reached out to touch to his arm, and right as her fingers touched his forearm, he started announce that the hurricane had brought in the two new comers. To Lori, every single person was a new comer. She hadn't really spent too much time with any of the other survivors, and she could only vaguely remember some of the people from when she had attended to them on the plane. She noticed right away that Zach had a major problem with the guy, and she briefly wondered why that was. She watched him carefully, remaining silent with her arms crossed over her chest. She wondered what had happened between these two, and then wondered how the girl had gotten attached to this guy.

So this is how it was going to be, huh? Well alright. Logan was game. He was definitely in the right kind of mood for this kind of altercation. The right kind of mood being a shitty one. It had been hard work setting up the shelter. It had been hard work fishing to keep himself and Taya fed. It had simply been hard work surviving. "Ah," he said at first, gathering his thoughts. "Here he is, Taya. The whiney bitch I gave the spear to. Apparently he is still pissed that I didn't feel like holding his hand through this entire traumatic experience." He felt only a little bad dragging her into the conversation, but he didn't want her to feel left in the dark on this whole issue.
He didn't have sympathy for anyone here. It wasn't an emotion he was good at expressing when he wasn't soaked to the bone and exhausted. Still, he would make himself stand tall now. He didn't care for this prick's attitude and wasn't about to back down to him either.
"Also, if the only reason you aren't stuffing your face right now is because you couldn't catch enough fish maybe you should have stuck around a while when I offered to teach you, you stubborn ass hat. So remove the stick from your ass and stop making a scene. We are both running from the same storm so obviously your group is in the same boat."
He was done with his momentary rant, his eyes hardening as he waited for the next stupid stream of words to pour from this guy's mouth. If he thought they were leaving though he was sadly mistaken. He knew him and Taya could get sick and hurt if they braved the weather any longer and was willing to take this cave by force if he had to.

000 words i wrote you a love letter but I realized this note would suffice. ► Well, she had crashed –literally– after the first day of the crash. Raion had thankfully been there to help her, but she hadn’t been the same after that. She was hungry, like everyone else, and terrified of what was going to happen next. She had a one month supply of pills to help when her anxiety got really bad, but she would really have to ration them; and no one else knew where they were, either. Kelly wanted to be able to trust people, especially since they were all in this together now, but her logic told her that she needed to be really careful around everyone because each person was capable of doing horrid things for the sake of surviving.
When the hurricane hit, Kelly wondered why she’d been surprised. She grew up in Florida (the land of the hurricanes, if you will) all her life and could remember every cloud formation and barometric pressure drop that was different from the usual thunderstorm. She’d been preparing and telling some of the others to prepare, and she’d even been one of the people to mention it to Zach (although she wasn’t one of the people nagging at him). So when the rain suddenly hit, Kelly carried her stuff to the caves before running back to help the others. Debris had already started flying and there were a few close calls as she helped some of the elderly walk to the shelter of the stone caves, but thankfully they’d made it safely to their destination. She regretted not being able to make her way there with Raion but she knew that he would understand when she explained why she hadn’t been able to spot him in all of the chaos.
Kelly was the last person (or so she thought) to arrive in the caves and the sudden ceasing of pelting water caused her to feel disoriented for a moment. As soon as she regained her equilibrium, though, she almost sulked into the cave; but she wouldn’t let the others see how much being cold and wet bothered her. It wasn’t good to show weakness unless you couldn’t help it.
As she walked over to the fire, her eyes narrowed when she saw that Zach was arguing with someone named Logan? The hurricane had happened pretty early on in the crash, so she hadn’t been able to meet everyone yet due. There was already another argument going on? Why couldn’t they just be thankful that no one else was hurt? Her eyes searched the cave for Raion, wondering if the tension in the enclosed space was suffocating him, too. As she searched, she saw that some of the children were already starting to get fidgety and clinging to their parents or guardian.

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya Taya apparently had a solid reason for feeling uneasy as Logan's anger surged. Things seemed to get aggressive real fast and she felt a spark of her normal self rise from within her as she watched the body language of these two. Looking to Logan, she wondered what she had missed with him. He must've met this guy when Taya happened to not be with him. They had some moments during the day (like, when nature called) when they were not together.
Face full of disbelief, she wasn't sure what side to be on; was there even a side to take? She was used to seeing men fighting. It was such a man thing to do.
"Woah, everybody calm down. Put your big girl panties on. Yeah, we're alone, I'm sorry if that's apparently offensive," she said with sass, taking a step towards Zachary. Sounded like Logan had been a good guy and helped out the group already. Taya was really surprised to hear that. He'd mentioned before how he wanted to stay away from them. Was there more to it than that, though?
"We're not about to go back out there so don't even try that with me," she muttered, eyes dark, as she stared him down, stepping inbetween Logan and Zach. The atmosphere was chilled, and not just by the storm outside. She saw the other girl walk up and touch Zach's arm earlier, but she didn't seem hostile like the guy. "Are you gonna let him act like this?" she asked Lori, wondering if she'd talk sense into him, too.
if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you [HASH]Zach
The soft touch of Lori's fingers helped him gravitate towards everyone's true needs. He didn't glance at her, but he was aware of her presence by his side. He wondered what someone else would do in his position. He felt Logan was unfit for their unity. His words infuriated him. Zach was about to get physical right then and there, and shove those words right back into Logan's face, when the girl stepped between them. He looked her in the eye and wondered what her stance was. She had not been with Logan that day, but any friend of Logan's had to be a shady character. She stood her ground in front of him and even made a low key threat. Zach did little but smirk at her.
"It's cute that you try to defend yourselves in front of everyone and make me look like the bad guy. This dick was going to walk right on by all of us with an armful of freshly caught fish while we starved. He's not a team player!" He looked straight at Taya, finger pointing towards Logan as he said it. Eyes burning as he remembered the sour attitude. "Don't even pretend you care about any of us here!"
Poised for action, he looked ready to defend himself if Logan took a step closer.
Things were getting too heated for everyone's liking, especially Raion's. Conflict made him so uneasy. He shivered despite being close to the fire, and stood up as the altercation was taking full swing. He listened to the words of each party, looking at each one of their faces as they spoke. He didn't like the tone that either of them had. He didn't like how they seemed ready to kill. Zach especially seemed like a crusader right now. He'd only spent a few days around the guy, but he was getting to know his personality well. Zach was quite possibly a good guy, but he was scary, too. Almost dark. He was willing to do things for the group that extended beyond normal boundaries of humanity. They need that. But, it needed to be kept in check. Raion was watching him closely. He was about to step closer, intervene if need be, when he saw Kelly standing nearby. His heart skipped a beat or two and he instinctively prioritized her, moving around people to stand by her side. She seemed to have been searching the crowd, as well, and he was glad to see she looked well. "Hey," he said quietly, the voices of the fighting in the background. He pulled her in for a quick hug. "Good to see you. Are you hearing all this?" His eyes went back to Zach, Logan, and the two girls near them. "Things are getting ugly, fast. I trust Zach, but not enough to send them away because of what he's saying."

Lori wasn't sure what was going on. She had never witnessed Zach like this, but in all honesty, it didn't surprise her. From their night together she had known him to be very successful at pushing buttons. She tried to keep up with the argument, and caught on that this soaked guy had decided not to be a team player. And for people who could not stand laziness or, in Zach's case, selfishness in terms of survival. She found herself also feeling disdain towards this other guy, all because of Zach's disapproval. That was very unlike her.
But what really set her over the edge was the preppy blonde chiming in about controlling Zach. "Sorry, Blondie, I don't keep anyone on a short leash," she snapped, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked her down and then rolled her eyes over Logan. Lori wasn't one to easily be pushed over or told what to do, and she wasn't about to take it from some girl who had to crawl into their cave after purposefully leaving the group and not even offer help to all these people. The fact that she had also gone rogue for a week didn't cross her mind, so maybe she was being a little hypocritical, but at this point she didn't care.
She narrowed her eyes as the girl threatened Zach if he dared make them leave the safety of the cave. Lori wasn't sure what her and Zach were, or even what they would be, but she did feel protective over him. He was leading all of these people in some of the worst experiences of their lives. There were children and elderly who needed help, and these two had done nothing when Zach had. "What do you even think you can do?" she asked of the little woman. "Zach here has been helping all of these people while you two had your own little island vacation," she butted in, raising her wounded arms to motion towards all the people, especially one man that was being nursed for an amputated leg.

Fists clenching, Logan was doing his best to hold back his temper so that he didn't cause this argument to get physical. Maybe he should. One good punch and this annoying asshole could be out for the entire storm. He figured that would cause more problems than it was worth though... he seemed to have follows. He listened to him spout off nonsense, his arms crossed over his chest in a fierce determination not to attempt to knock this guys teeth out.
When Zach pointed at him, Logan took a half step closer. He was going to break this bastard's hand. Then he could justify his words that he was spewing. "Who gave you the fish you fucker?" he snapped. He was going to take another step but Taya stepped in. He would take that moment to move away, taking in a breath to calm himself. The day he'd come back empty handed he wouldn't have said anything to her. In fact, he would have just said that he'd been unable to catch anything. He'd been lucky that day mostly due to his determination to stay out until he'd caught a number of fish he'd set as a goal to himself. The coral had cut his feet up so bad that it had been hard to move around the next few days. He'd been reluctant to give up the fish, but in the end he had given it up to them... hadn't he? Yes. The answer to that was yes.
"Like I told you before: you aren't my problem. Right now the only problem I have is that storm. If you don't like me it looks like you have two choices. You can shut up and deal with the fact that we have to put up with each other until the rain stops... or you can try and throw me out by force." He glanced at Taya, wondering if she would object. Zach seemed to be itching to take his aggression out on someone and Logan would love the chance to beat this entitled little prick into the cave floor.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Kelly noticed movement in the corner of her eye and she couldn't help a small smile when she saw Raion making his way towards her. The hug was unexpected, but it was also just what she needed at this moment. She returned the hug and just rested her chin on his shoulder for a moment, savoring how warm he was compared to her. Oh! She was probably uncomfortable and cold to hug right now since she'd just been out in the rain... She gave him an apologetic smile as they parted from the hug.
"Good to see you, too," she replied, her tone as quiet as Raion's. She nodded at his question. "I understand that things are tense right now, but a fight starting already?" She wasn't sure who had started it, but she really hoped it hadn't been their "leader," Zach. "I agree, especially since it's not like they tried hurting anybody... Not that I know of, anyway. But Logan looks like he's out for blood just like Zach, so at the moment I don't trust either of them." She hated this. It reminded her of the past she'd gotten away from and vowed never to return to, and yet it always seemed to follow her somehow, in some form. Her eyes were narrowed as she watched the two arguing. She would only step in if she had to, and boy would that surprise all of them. Her lips formed an amused smile at the thought of it and she returned her attention to Raion. "I'm sorry we couldn't get here together, but I couldn't find you after I helped others to the cave." She watched two women start sticking up for their men and she giggled. "This is better than reality tv! Not that I watch it."

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Not even five seconds had passed before Zach was starting something with Logan. Jonathan groaned lowly and let his had fall back gently against the cave wall. Would he really have to listen to this all night? If so... he looked out at the rain coming down so hard you could hardly see, and standing in that looked more welcoming than hearing these annoying voices echo off the cave walls. Cooper, the Beagle puppy Jonathan had found the day of the crash, whimpered at the angry tones and tried to burrow even further into Jonathan's chest. "Sh-sh, it's alright, buddy." He crooned almost inaudibly as he wrapped his arms tighter against the shaking bundle of fur. Jonathan's piercing blue eyes seemed to almost glow in the firelight as he watched a woman get between the two men and give them what-for. That caused him to chuckle and Cooper perked up, wagging his tail slightly and receiving a few pats on the back before settling back down.
Now another woman with tattoos for arms made her thoughts known and Jonathan felt like he could heave with disgust at the way these four were behaving. Some "leader" this Zach guy was turning out to be. Jonathan was concerned for what would happen when Cooper became full size and was not so easily hidden anymore. Would Zach make him get rid of it because it was just one more mouth to feed? Well, Zach wouldn't have to worry because dogs didn't eat the same way humans did, so Cooper's diet would have a lot more options. And if for some reason anyone in the group voted the dog out, Jonathan would leave with it and find his way to the other side of the island if he had to. He and Cooper needed each other, and that was that. Right now Jonathan could only watch in silence and try to imagine he was watching a reality TV show so he could start calming down again before his temper showed up.

Kelly was still soaking wet, like the rest of them, and he was reminded of how cold they would get in here. That is, if they could all stay here safely. The argument was ugly and more and more people were jumping in, taking sides. Raion couldn't hold in his discomfort anymore. Kelly talked of the situation in comparison to tv, but he felt the sting of it as sharp as it really was. He just cringed and wished he didn't have to play mediator in this situation as he saw even the two women starting to get at each other's throats. But he knew someone had to keep their cool and step in. He smiled sweetly at Kelly and touched her shoulder gently, as if to reassure her that he'd be right back. Then he quickly walked over to step into the fray, feigning confidence that he wasn't sure he had. "There's no point in arguing about who's a bad guy. Zach, whatever happened, you gotta know we aren't about to let you send human beings to their deaths out there. Maybe he's not a team player or whatever you call it, but he's one of us anyway. There's either the dead, or the living now."He nodded at Logan and Taya and held out a hand in a peace offering, looking to shake on it. He didn't think Zach would walk away quietly, but he was confident he'd listen to reason. "I'm Raion. Welcome to the group. We've got a fire and some food."
if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you [HASH]Zach
Things were spiraling out of his control and he felt the eyes of everyone on him. His head pounded from the previous night's activity. Not his shining moment, but it had been stress relieving at the time. Today, however, his craving for another good drink was consuming his normal judgement, like usual.
Part of him was relieved when Raion stepped up to attempt to diffuse the situation. As angry as he was, he was also tired and distressed. He didn't feel like it was a fight he'd win right now. Not with his head so clouded and throbbing. He glanced at Lori, focusing for a second on how passionately she'd shoved away the desperate clawing of the girl about to be thrown outside. It was a side of herself she had not given to Zach. What were they doing, anyway? Throwing this guy out because he chose to stay away from them?
No. Throwing him out because he's a scumbag. Might even slit my throat while I sleep.
No point in arguing with Raion. That guy was as soft as a kitten. He'd never consider hurting someone just because they might be a threat. But he considered Raion to be excellent at calming everyone down, so he trusted him to do what he himself refused to have any part of.
"Guess I have to listen Raion. He'd save a half-dead squirrel if it killed him. I'd still rather turn into him, than you."
He turned his back on all of them, and stalked off into the darker parts of the cave, feeling hot anger smoldering that would keep him awake through the night.
◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya Taya looked taken aback at the harsh way Lori had so viciously talked to her. She felt hope fading fast and a cold stone dropped in her stomach. These people were all mad. They really were going to send them out into a hurricane because...she didn't understand why. Just, that Zach really, really hated Logan, and the feeling was mutual. There'd be no looking for reason in this group of savages.
Feeling ready to cry or hit somebody, Taya backed closer to Logan and snaked her arm around his, afraid of what was going to happen next. She'd rather venture back outside and take her chances with Logan, then see him fight to the death and probably lose. They were outnumbered so why try?
Her desperate thoughts were cut short by the new guy who approached with an easy-going demeanor. He had a kindness in his eyes unlike anyone around them. As he mildly chastised Zach for what he was suggesting be done to them, she felt a weight lift off of her.
So, not everyone here wanted to see blood, after all. She loosened her grip on Logan after realizing she had been probably cutting off circulation in his arm.
As Raion held out his hand to them, she looked to Logan to gauge his reaction. Meanwhile, Zach was giving in and whisking himself away. Good riddance.

Lori had remained silent, not stepping in when the men had begun to further their fight. She didn't know enough of the situation, so instead of saying something more and looking more like an idiot, she just remained guarded, arms crossed over her chest as she stared Taya down. She had a sick feeling of satisfaction when she backed away from the fight. She thought it was funny that this girl couldn't even handle a little confrontation. Being the bitchy person that Lori was, she had never struggled with the issue of voicing her opinion. She was startled by the kindness of one of the men, and for a moment she was about to ask Zach who he was, but right as she turned around to ask she noticed he was storming off further into the cave.
She followed after him grabbing his hand to slow him down. "Zach, we will just have to ignore him," she offered, not even noticing that she used the collective "we" term instead of "you". Why did one night together change her into this? She knew he was upset, but it was time for them to get food. Neither of them had eaten food last night, and they had only had a few bites this morning. They were practically running on hormones and alcohol vapors.

Slowly
Things were tense. He was sure that something was going to ignite and then all hell would break loose. Just as it seemed that Zach was ready to take action though, someone else stepped in. He would feel Taya's arm loop around his own and knew how she felt about the idea of being kicked out into the storm. He was just glad that this new guy was able to sway Zach before things got nasty.
Slowly he would allow his muscles to relax, letting out the anticipation in the form of a slow deliberate breath as Zach walked away from him. It took every ounce of maturity not to yell something stupid after his departing figure. Maybe he was growing up? He doubted that. All he knew was that he didn't want to risk Taya back over some petty issues like that.
As Raion extended his hand, Logan would cautiously reach for it. At first the look on his face would show that uncertainty and distrust, but he would push that back as quickly as he felt it. He displayed confidence despite the lack of it that was in him at the moment. Fake it till you make it seemed to be the philosophy behind his actions. The fact that all of his hard work had just been blown over was incredibly disheartening... but having to hide out in a cave full of people who would no doubt be looking at him like some scumbag was even more so. Looking at him though you would never see that.
So when he gripped Raion's hand it followed by a firm handshake and a cocky grin. "I'm Logan, this is Taya.." he was grateful for the feeling he now was regaining in his arm. On any normal circumstance he would have made a joke about it, but he didn't feel like pushing her any emotional edge at the moment and didn't have it in him to coddle anyone either.
He looked outside to the pouring rain and gave a bit of a sigh, running his fingers through his waterlogged dark locks before turning back to Taya with a grin. "Well at least with all the rain I won't have to make my own mud for a while, right?" he would finally offer. He unceremoniously pulled his dripping shirt from his body, ringing it out near the mouth of the cave. "If you don't mind I would like to try and get dry. I aint a doctor and I sure as shit don't have any kind of medicine... so..." yea. If you want to help me I can probably build some kind of rack for drying clothes over the fire." He glanced out into the storm. "We just need some logs.." The look on Made by Riley at THQ!
