"This do I swear
I will be there"
I will be there"
How long had it been? Certainly not long enough for the screams, the scraping and the loud bang to stop resonating in his mind whenever the man tried to rest and recover from the time spent searching the island he had been thrust onto. Thomas could still clearly recall frantically walking the length of what had been left of the plane that was supposed to take him on a happy holiday to Chile. Each body had made another pulse of worry flow through his own tall frame and by the time all the seats had been searched the worry had started to overflow. It hadn't taken a minute for the 18 year old to decide that he would leave the wreckage in search for the smaller blonde that he had had his arm around mere minutes before the plane had tumbled rapidly to the ground.
That was how he had found himself just on the inside of a decently sized cave. It was rather dark and the man could feel his eyes straining to adjust to the lack of sunlight. It made him consider using the phone that had been in his backpack on the plane since it had a flashlight he could use to navigate himself through the darkness. It was decided against, however,in favor of saving the little power the device had in case it would be any help for a rescue attempt. His feet took him a little further in before coming to a halt in an area of it that was good enough for shelter but not so far in that he wouldn't be able to see. It was a cave he hadn't explored before. The few survivors he had met so far seemed to be staying around the caves after the recent rain and hurricane.
Giving in to a lack of energy, his tall frame leaned against the wall before sliding down it to get into a sitting position. There was a slight chill starting to emerge in the areas of his body the man had just exposed to the ground of the cave but the past couple of days made the sensation less shocking than the first time he had gone through the experience. Thomas' hands found their way to his head. Yet another day had passed without so much of a glimpse of his blonde friend. It was his fault this had happened to the smaller male. Yes, it had been Kayden's idea to go to Chile but that would never have come to the surface if he hadn't suggested the two should go on a holiday before having to leave for different colleges. When the plane started to drop instead of protecting his friend Thomas had blacked out and it was the thing that stuck in his mind most of all. He kept scolding himself mentally for not being stronger, believing that the two would be together if he had stayed conscious.
He was brought out of his thoughts by a loud noise coming from the entrance to the cave. Then in the silence echoed the tapping noise that the 18 year old knew could only have come from footsteps. The noise was increasing leading him to the conclusion that the steps were getting closer and closer to him. The thought of someone else coming towards where he was set led the tall male to get up into a standing position rather quickly. From the survivors the man had bumped into so far some of them didn't seem as friendly as others and he wanted to be on guard since he had no idea what sort of person was rapidly approaching. With another tap he could have sworn he saw a silhouette.
