◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya There seemed to be some kind of beach party going on in the distance. People danced and laughed like they were having the time of their lives. Taya watched from the treeline, at the opposite end of the gulf. As long as she stayed far away, she doubted anyone would be able to see her in the darkness of night. The gulf was pretty large. She couldn't even make out any faces of the people in the glow of the large fire so far away.
Something inside of her stirred, seeing them all again. She and Logan were quick to slip away from the group when the storm had started to let up. She had felt pretty wounded at the way they'd both been treated. Not everyone had been like Zach and Lori, though. Raion had seemed kind, and Taya had talked to others, too. She wasn't too eager to go back to them, but seeing them now, having so much fun, was a temptation.
She wasn't about to leave Logan, though. It was the last thing she wanted to do. Thinking of him, she smiled warmly. She felt as gleeful as a teenager again, as though some kind of new love was blossoming. And it was, at least inside of her. She couldn't yet know what was on the horizon for them, but the run to get there was half the fun. She was alive and thriving and couldn't be happier.
Taya pulled off all of her clothes, one piece after another, throwing it all into a bunched up pile in the sand. She was alone at the moment, having slipped away just to get some quiet time and maybe a refreshing swim to clean herself. The lagoon was a decent walk away and she didn't want to be gone long. Here, she could watch the party and listen to the faint sound of music. Music was not something she expected to hear and that was almost the driving point to make her move closer to the party. But, she stayed in her private spot, moving her cold body into the calm waters of the gulf. It was freezing, but felt wonderful. She was exhilarated as she almost seemed to pick up what tune was playing. Livin on a Prayer.

A sour mood had seemed to settle Logan since they reclaimed their little camp in the gulf again. The hurricane had ripped through all of the work he had done and left him with a shattered will to rebuild. He had managed a shelter for them by throwing together branches and clothes from scattered suitcases. He had decided to take the group's absence from the crash site to his advantage and pillage the abandoned spoils. What he needed to do was find a way to break into the section below deck. He was sure that there was some kind of damaged section that would gain him access... he just didn't have the time to do it.
It wasn't just the damage to his hut and fire pit that had him in the mucks but the entire stay in the caves. He had stayed as close to the cave entrance as he could, knowing full well that if Zach had his way he would had thrown him out into the rain. If it had just been him Logan's pride would have probably had him looking for another cave.. but Taya was there. He had put her safety above his own and suffered through the thorn in his side that was Zach.
Now Logan had forced himself to build a fire, albeit a low one. He sat staring it... maybe even wallowing a bit in what could be called self pity. He would even admit that. He was allowing this for himself this though only because he knew tomorrow he would be working twice as hard to build their home back up.
A flare of light illuminated the scowl on his scraggily features as he stoked the flames. He hadn't even really noticed that Taya had left until that moment. When he did though he felt his gut twist into knots. She is a big girl, she can take care of herself.. He kept telling himself this until he realized that he wasn't going to listen to reason and found himself searching around. First place was the closest- the beach.
He would stumble his way through the dark to the inky shores. The moon did little to aid him in his search. Walking half way to the waters he felt a new fear... what if she had drowned? That wasn't a pleasant thought at all.. but he wouldn't justify it with too much thought. She was fine. She has to be, right? Right. Especially since now he could see the flickering light in the distance of what seemed like some kind of party... was she there? It seemed as unlikely as her drowning but he couldn't help but wonder. The fact that she wouldn't even tell him she was going was enough to bring back those angsty feelings but he pushed them back. He would check- despite his loathing the idea of going anywhere near Zach or his groupies- just in case.
The feeling of cloth under his feet though gave him a pause. The trail of foot prints to the water made him revisit the drowning theory... but skinny dipping? Really? Oh it was hard to not picture that. The echoes of music hit his ears but he barely recognized it. His eyes were now on the little dot against the moonlight he could only guess was Taya. He needed to make sure though.
"Taya?" he called out, cocking his head to the side slightly as he stayed, toeing the shoreline. "What are you doing?"

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya The sound of Logans voice actually made her jump a bit. She was lost in thought, floating in the water. The music was hard to catch and the wind sometimes seemed to blow the sound far away from her ears, so we was mentally humming along to keep track of where the lyrics were at. She turned on her toes, glad to see that it was indeed him. His face reflected some of the moonlight, casting a glow in his eyes.
She didn't feel nervous being without clothes, since it was Logan. Anyone else and yeah, maybe she'd be alarmed. It wasn't the first time shed been skinny dipping but it had been a long time. She probably hadn't even hit puberty back then.
She smiled. "I'm taking a naked swim. What's it look like?" she replied, her arms spreading out in the water. She ducked her face halfway underwater, blowing raspberries to make bubbles before she came back up for a breath. "Wanna join me? They're playing Bon Jovi other there, so I don't think it'd be appropriate to say no."
She was teasing, of course.

Well at least she hadn't drowned, right? He watched her duck low in the water, his eyes trained on that little ripple in the waves as he weighed his options. Skinny dipping was usually something he only did when he was very drunk and lured into it by an equally drunk beautiful lady... or well that was a once-only kind of situation. Yet here she was calling him, teasing him with the option of joining her in the waves. Once more that line was being toed and he had to consider his options.
"You know," he said, a bit of a smirk on his lips, "you are a lot braver than I am- playing in the ocean after dark. These are tropical waters... and sharks tend to feed at night."
He wondered how she would react to that information. It was a concern, of course, that something could get her. Still, he didn't fear the ocean as much as he might have just led her to believe. He had yet to see any sharks scoping out the coral around these parts. That didn't mean their weren't any around but he wasn't all that worried.

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya The water was cold, but she was starting to adapt to it already. Nothing compared to the spring of the lagoon, though, where it was always even colder than this.
She watched Logan's expression, lit up by a bit of moonlight reflecting off the waters. It surprised her, actually, that he wasn't jumping right in with her. Him showing up hadn't been part of the plan, but she didn't feel scared in the least. Not even a little embarassed. He, however, wasn't apparently too sure about the idea.
"Ha! Yeah there probably are sharks close by. It's okay to be scared, Logan. You can just watch me from over there."
Actually, the idea of sharks had not crossed her mind, as much as the ocean sometimes terrified her. She tried to play it off, ducking under the water and doing a hand-stand until her bare legs broke the surface. It was just deep enough to cover the rest of her, and she couldn't hold it for more than a second or two, falling back into the dark waters with a splash. Her face surfaced, arms pulled around her body now.
Maybe she should get out, but, Logan was right there watching. Should she? Well, it was just a theory that sharks would be likely right now. And she was enjoying herself.
"Actually I was really enjoying the music. When the wind blows just right you can here it loud and clear. I didn't realize how much I missed music," she mused as her body turned in the opposite direction. She watched the people again, still dancing around. The smells of something cooking hit her nose then and she inhaled.

The moonlight exposed the grin that spread from ear to ear. His eyes traced her form as she splashed about in the waters before him. Alive with possibilities, his mind raced through the options. That invisible line was burning at his feet.
"Me? Scared?" he'd ask with a gleam in his eyes. The challenge was right there and he was tempted. This time though he wasn't going to let himself back down. He stepped forwards over that imaginary line, tugging his shirt up over his head before tossing it to the side. "Besides... how can I fight off a shark from the shore? You'd be snatched up... it would be some... horrible movie set up."
Unlike her he would leave himself in his boxers for the moment. He figured that she hadn't expected him to show up and getting naked wasn't exactly the right response to a surprise intrusion on her skinny dipping. Then when she would go to do her handstand he would rush in, feeling the chilling waters crash over him as he dover underwater to swim the last dozen feet closer to her. He would break surface right as she came back up.
"What kind of music did you listen to?" he'd ask, the grin on his face knowing that the movement into the water was sudden. He wouldn't be so bold as to try to see her naked form... which would have been fruitless in the inky waters they were in.

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya Taya didn't watch a lot of movies in her later years, but she remembered when the Jaws movies came out and the terror it left in people for a long time. Maybe, if a shark took her, it would be the way to go, anyway. If they were to starve to death later on, well, that was much worse.
What awful thinking, she decided, right before she had dunked underwater to display her hand stand. The image of Logan back into his boxers burned in her mind. She had seen it before, and here it was again. When she fell over and surfaced moments later, she was surprised to open her eyes and see that Logan had since made his way into the water. Water cascaded down both of their faces. Taya wiped some away from her eyes, trying to keep the burning salt away from them.
She was smiling with mischief. He had taken the bait and joined her. A bold move, and it seemed there was no going back from here. It was an adventure that she wasn't going to back down from. The water churned around them and she knew there was nothing to see, but still, Logan kept his eyes up on her face and she couldn't help but wonder where his hands were. She was a rotten thinker after all.
The sound of the music faintly in the background set the tone for the question he posed to her. It brought her mind out of the gutter and back to things she was always pained to think about; the "before." Life pre-crash kept nagging at her. Logan asked what kind of music she preferred to listen to and now she pictured herself on her father's ranch, brushing horses and mucking stalls while Charlie Daniels played loud in the background.
She brought a hand to her hair and swept it along to rest on one shoulder, leaving the opposite one bare and glistening with ocean wetness. The gentle gulf waves made it hard for her to stay balanced in the water, so her toes curled against the sand below as she tried to anchor herself where she was. "I listened to everything, but in my house, there was a lot of country. At night I'd get on my computer or Ipod and blast Nsync and Eminem. The greatest stuff of the 90's. What about you?"
The cool breeze blew and made her shiver for a moment in the cold water. How much longer she would last out here, she wasn't sure, but she was loving every second of it, especially now that she had sweet company.

Air seemed to be in short supply for a moment as he stared down at that smile. The quirk of mischievousness was not lost on him and he felt his own matching it despite his forgetfulness on breathing... a fact that once again made him feel like some stupid teenager. He was feeling that that way too often around her. Someday he'd have to think on why that was... because his brain wasn't quite giving him any logical reasonings at the moment.
The topic of music helped keep his mind on her... well parts of her that weren't hidden. It was a constant battle that he knew was fruitless despite his best efforts. He chuckled a bit at the mention of Nsync, remembering a time that his little sister had plastered her walls with the faces of all the boy band idols. "I just listen to what is on the closest radio," he would admit, watching her brush her hair and expose the curve of her neck. He traced that curve despite himself; up to her jaw line and across to her lips before finally back to meet her eyes with his own.
Maybe he was thinking about this too hard. He knew that when someone came- if someone came to pluck them from this island she would go back to her life and he would go back to his. Though the conflicts that were in his head were holding him back and he was starting to wonder what the hell it was that kept him from reacting like he normally would. He didn't even understand his own reasonings anymore... they were just excuses. Excuses that were blinding him from the signals she kept tossing at him. Ball seemed to be most definitely in his court... right?
"Taya... I..." he paused, glancing down at her lips one more time before glancing up into those eyes, searching for any sign that he needed to back down. Under the water a hand would slowly move to slide around her bare waist, pulling her closer to him but still he paused. "... oh fuck it..." he muttered to himself and went for it. He closed the gap between them, pressing his lips to hers fiercely. There was no going back now.. go big or go home.

◄ HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS? [HASH]Taya It was funny and somehow adorable, the way they were with each other. It's like they had known each other forever. Time had seemed to pass pretty fast in his company. How had it been over a month now that they were surviving together? It wasn't long, and here they were, naked in the ocean together without even breaking a nervous sweat. She enjoyed watching his tortured expression, knowing he was both enjoying and suffering her unswerving desire to tease him.
She trusted Logan. He had almost seemed intimidating and aloof when they first met, yet they had clicked. She listened to him chuckling at her when she mentioned her boy band favorite. Good times. Taya had no shame, even if she had been made fun of for that in the past. At least that was over with. She and Logan were adults and the only poking fun they did was simply innocent banter.
He mentioned his musical preference, or lack thereof. The way he worded it reminded her of what he had said about being a "bum." She still burned to know more about Logan pre-crash. Maybe someday the topic would come up again and she'd get to hear more. Even if not, well, it's not like any of that mattered anymore, after all.
Her eyes furrowed slightly and her frown fell a bit as Logan stumbled with his words. His expression caught her off guard only because she had lost her train of previous thoughts when they talked about music. His eyes said enough now and she shivered as she felt his hand find its way to her waist. Finally, she thought, which surprised her. She had been having fun taking it slow with him, and yet, now that he was moving in for the kill, she felt a rush of impatient desire take hold of her. He paused before going in for a kiss, sending sparks through her as his lips met hers.
She sighed and leaned into his kiss, practically melting into it. And of course, she kissed him back fervently, breaking apart after a few moments to say something to him. "Well, if you want," she responded jokingly to his offhand cursing, as a pleasant warmth rushed through her body. She slipped her arms over his shoulders, pressing against him, and wondered if she had actually died a month ago and this was now her version of "heaven." She felt that great.
It wasn't the way she thought their night would end, but it clearly wasn't a line she was too scared to cross.

Finally he had done something right. The kiss left him feeling with a strange sense of... victory? His confidence had won out against the nay-saying in his own head and now here he was- with a beautiful woman in his arms and accepting his affections. The sigh that escaped her only causing him to shiver and his skin to itch with a certain need he hadn't felt in a while. His other hand slipped over her hip before he would duck down, scooping her body up and wrapping her bare legs around his waist before standing once more.
That break in the kiss, those words spoken? Yes. He did want. That answer burned in his eyes as he stared at her, frozen by the momentary frustration by the pause of their untouching lips. Slowly but surely he would turn towards the shore, leading her up towards their little hide away.
Tonight was their night. The music from the party, the sound of crashing waves- it all faded away to nothing to him at that moment as he entered their own private little world. The feeling of their skin on skin was enough for him to wish away any chance of rescue... and he doubted that those feelings would fade away. Despite his best efforts Taya had grown on him more than anyone else ever had.
