❥ THERE WERE SIGHTS every now and again so unbelievably horrible and unfortunate that something somewhere inside a human being didn't allow them to look away. Car crashes, a shooting, death. Today, in the middle of the jungle on a remote, abandoned island, it was the wreckage of what was once a plane. Although smoke no longer rose, although the injured and dying no longer wept from their wounds and shook from the fear of realization the sight was still quite something to behold. It had a morbid little way of holding your attention and, currently, Alexander couldn't stop himself from staring for a minute.
The man had been one of the lucky ones, had been one of those survivors that couldn't quite believe what happened. His body ached and screamed bloody murder as he kept himself busy, today that attitude bringing him back to the site. Although he'd seen the occasional person peering around this area it had seemed to him that many chose to avoid it, and understandably so. But today Alexander needed to keep busy, and he would do just that.
The man walked carefully around the sort of ridge created around the site, hand scratching at his beard as he whittled away his thoughts. Supplies, he'd need supplies. Most everyone had managed to get something of relative use from the site while he had simply gone and tried to comfort as many survivors as he could, his own mental stability be damned. Service with a smile, after all.
Eventually he would stop his pacing, bending over to roll the legs of his jeans up and straightening back to pull his lion's mane hair into a bun. He didn't want either getting in the way right now, a few locks of his sandy hair refusing to go into the bun. They were promptly shoved behind an ear.
He'd mumble something under his breath, bowing his head in respect before beginning his process of searching for whatever useful thing may have survived the crash.

"I'm not random, you just can't think as fast as me." |
Time ceased to exist here. The dark haired girl could have been here for a few days, weeks, or even months. The point was, she had a few supplies herself, such as her hunting knife that was tied to her side by the makeshift rope that she had made a few days back. She wasn't a drunk or injured person like the majority of the others. No, instead Sable was a normal girl. Well, as normal as a young adult that had been stranded on an island and woke up to find her family dead could be. Her mind wondering about the random things. How was everyone back home? Surely her grandparents had heard about the crash. Did they think her to be dead as well? She stopped on the thought. There was no reason to think on the bad, just dwell on what little good was here.
Walking through the thick forest, the sand under her bare feet, Sable would end up at the crash site. The scraps of metal littered here and there, the plane raided for supplies way back when the crash had first happened. Surely someone had overlooked something good here. After all, she knew that many people had been over this place with a fine tooth comb, but, a girl could dream. With a slight sigh, her hair already pulled back into a highset ponytail, Sable would walk a tad bit further before pausing to have a look around.
Wreckage was a definite, the plane's left wing was bent in a odd shape. It's got a broken leg, she though strangely. She smiled at the thought. A lame and corny attempt at a joke, but she supposed it was something. Walking towards the plane, she would see that someone else was already there, a man whose name she had yet not come to know. Well, at least she was considered a people person. Taking a step into what remained of the plane, she would think for a moment before asking in a somewhat shy voice: "Is there anything that I can help you with?"

notes: ❥ ALEXANDER was surprised, thrown off balance for a moment by the sudden intrusion of a second voice. He turned to face his new company slowly, brows raised in surprised curiosity. It was a girl, someone he wasn't familiar with yet. Although he supposed that was redundant, seeing as he wasn't exactly familiar with anyone yet. He took a moment to run a hand through his hair to scratch at his head, a bit of a nervous chuckle in his voice.
"Ahh, you frightened me. I'm just looking for anything useful anybody might have happened to ignore, as hopeless as that may seem. I wouldn't mind the help, if you're willing to offer it" He said, offering a genuinely friendly smile. People were his favorite thing, conversation never quite failing to act as a pick-me-up for the man.
He'd take a few careful steps around the wreckage, shuffling so as to not hurt himself on any bits of twisted and gnarled metal. He'd just gotten up on his feet, he didn't need a cut to put him on his back once again. As his eyes scanned over the area he'd turn his head to the girl again, a hand rising to rub at the back of his neck.
"Think we could find anything?....Ah, I am Alexander, by the way. A pleasure"

Sable returned the mans smile. "Sorry about that. I don't mean to sneak up on people. It just sort of... happens. Nice to meet you. I'm Sable, by the way." Taking a closer look at the wreckage, she would see that there was many bits of metal here and there and even glass, from where the windows had busted. Great, she thought. I just had to leave my shoes back at camp. Oh well, she'd been stabbed in the foot once or twice on accident before, right? Who was she kidding. They were stranded at sea with no medical supplies. But, that wasn't going to stop her. After all, she had a mission to fulfil.
The two of them not all that far apart, Sable would give a slight hop over a large pile of sharp wreckage in order not to injure herself. "Well, as far as finding anything goes... I know a lot of people have been searching around this place. I don't know what you consider useful, I mean, all food like things are most likely gone by now, but I'd be glad to help if you're sure you don't mind someone tagging along."
